
The Mount Union Fire Department operates a diverse and well-equipped fleet of apparatus designed to handle a wide range of emergency situations, from structure fires and vehicle accidents to technical rescues and medical assists. Each unit is strategically outfitted to provide rapid response, firefighter safety, and dependable service to our community.
Our fleet includes a frontline engine, aerial and ladder apparatus, rescue-pumper, and specialized service units. Together, these vehicles provide critical capabilities such as high-volume water delivery, elevated operations, vehicle extrication, technical rescue, fire suppression, and scene support. This allows our crews to effectively manage both routine calls and large-scale or complex emergencies.
Maintained and operated by dedicated volunteer firefighters, MUFD’s fleet represents a long-term investment in public safety. Through careful maintenance, training, and community support, these apparatus ensure the department remains prepared to protect lives, property, and the well-being of Mount Union and the surrounding areas—today and into the future.

Truck 7 is a 2009 Spartan Rosenbauer aerial apparatus, purchased new by the Mount Union Fire Department and placed into service in 2010. Equipped with a 100-foot aerial ladder, pre-piped master stream, 1,500 GPM pump, and 500-gallon water tank, Truck 7 provides critical aerial, fire suppression, and rescue capabilities.
The unit carries a comprehensive hose package, a pre-connected Blitzfire monitor, and a wide range of rescue, forcible entry, and technical equipment including hydraulic rescue tools, thermal imaging, ground ladders, and stabilization gear. Truck 7 also features full scene lighting, a 10 kW generator, SCBA, saws, salvage equipment, and hand tools to support extended operations.
Truck 7 plays a vital role in structure fires, motor vehicle accidents, technical rescues, and overall fireground support, remaining a cornerstone asset in protecting lives and property throughout the community.

Engine 7 is a 2003 Pierce Lance pumper, originally purchased from Dover, Delaware, meets the operational needs of both structural firefighting and rescue incidents within our community. Powered by a 2,000 GPM two-stage pump and carries 1,000 gallons of water, crews can quickly begin fire attack while establishing a dependable water supply. A front large-diameter intake provides rapid connections to hydrants and supply lines.
Engine 7 carries an extensive hose package and features a pre-piped master stream for high-volume operations. The apparatus is fully equipped with modern firefighting and rescue tools, including thermal imaging, hydraulic rescue tools, auto cribbing, and a wide range of hand and forcible entry tools. Engine 7 is outfitted with five SCBA seats, onboard generator, portable scene lighting, traffic control equipment, and multiple ground ladders.
Engine 7 plays a critical role in fire suppression, motor vehicle accidents, search and ventilation, and overall fireground support, making it a reliable and versatile asset for the Mount Union Fire Department.

Rescue 7 is a 2003 Pierce Enforcer rescue-pumper, purchased new as part of the Mount Union Fire Department’s 100th Anniversary. This versatile apparatus is designed to serve both as a frontline fire suppression unit and a fully equipped rescue vehicle, making it one of the most important and flexible pieces of equipment in the department’s fleet.
Rescue 7 is powered by a 1,250 GPM pump and carries 1,000 gallons of water, allowing crews to initiate immediate fire attack while maintaining a dependable water supply. The unit features a front large-diameter intake and an extensive hose package, along with a pre-connected bumper line and multiple crosslays for rapid deployment. The apparatus also includes a light tower, onboard generator, and comprehensive scene lighting to support operations day or night.
In addition to its firefighting capabilities, Rescue 7 is fully outfitted for rescue and technical incidents. The unit carries thermal imaging, gas detection tools, a full complement of AMKUS hydraulic rescue equipment, stabilization cribbing, chains, ventilation fans, saws, ground ladders, and a wide assortment of hand and forcible entry tools. Rescue 7 plays a critical role in structure fires, motor vehicle accidents, and complex rescue operations, helping protect lives and property throughout the community.
Brush 7 is a 2007 Ford F-350 Super Duty crew cab, purchased from Raystown Ford and equipped to handle brush fires, wildland incidents, and off-road emergency responses. Built for versatility and mobility, this unit allows firefighters to quickly access remote areas where larger apparatus cannot safely operate.
The unit is equipped with a skid unit, featuring a 200-gallon water tank a 200 GPM pump, and a 30-gallon foam tank, along with a booster reel and pencil line for fast initial attack. Brush 7 also carries drafting lines, Indian Tanks, and a brush bag equipped with pencil line and nozzles, allowing crews to effectively control and extinguish brush and wildland fires.
In addition to its firefighting capabilities, Brush 7 is equipped with chainsaws, hand tools, flares, traffic cones, warning lights, and medical equipment including an AED and first aid kit. This allows the unit to assist with motor vehicle accidents, traffic control, scene safety, and general support operations, making it a valuable and versatile asset in protecting the community.

Special Unit 7 was purchased in January 2026 from Brandywine Hundred Fire Company No. 1 and was fully refurbished to Mount Union Fire Department (MUFD) standards prior to being placed into active service.
A 2009 Ford F-550, Special Unit 7 is a highly versatile unit designed to support a wide range of emergency responses. The apparatus is equipped with a 200 GPM pump, a 200-gallon water tank, and a 30-gallon foam cell including a booster line, providing initial fire suppression and enhanced flexibility on a variety of incidents.
Special Unit 7 carries a crew of five personnel and features 360-degree scene lighting to improve safety and visibility during nighttime and low-light operations. The unit is stocked with a wide assortment of medical, hand and firefighting tools, allowing crews to efficiently manage EMS responses, vehicle accidents, and general service calls.
